What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website or its partners store in your browser. Some remember preferences; others help advertising networks measure or target ads.

Cookies we set

Upkeep Plan itself sets very few cookies. The calculators run in your browser and do not send your inputs to us. If we add a first-party cookie later — for example to remember a display preference — we will list it here.

Third-party cookies

When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors — including Google through AdSense — may set cookies on your device. Those cookies can be used to:

• serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites;
• limit how often you see the same ad;
• measure whether an ad was shown or clicked.

We do not control those cookies directly. Google's policies govern how its advertising cookies work.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and see which content is useful. We do not use those tools to build advertising profiles ourselves or to sell reader data.

Affiliate and retailer links

Outbound links to retailers may set their own cookies when you follow them. Those sites have separate privacy and cookie policies.

How to control cookies

• Browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking them does not break reading or using the calculators on this site.
• Personalized ads. Opt out of Google's personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings.
• Industry opt-out. Opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized ads at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).
